Harmony‘s nice little procedural drawing tool to sketch with. You cant undo with it, no opacity, or layers, but a lovely texture brush that mimics pencil shading in a very cool way. I doubt if I’d normally have thought of drawing this way, so it was super fun to play around with it. And apparently, with a little extra knowledge you can tweak Harmony and develop it as well.

This street art festival happened last month. Lots of walls painted by many peoples. Would love to see more festivals like this, where art is not an add on, something of an afterthought to music or whatever else that’s getting the sponsorship and attention.
I would love more of this kind of space, though, where people discover the walls through a map (download map from that link). Of course it’s always nice when you discover art in places you werent expecting to see it at all, but this was quite wonderful (for people like me with low attention spans and abysmally low levels of alertness, who walk with eyes firmly planted on the ground or nowhere in particular at all).
The wall Zine and I did. Click to embiggen.
Next time, I promise better planning. Or not. Details are nicer. Some details:
More photos of the rest of the walls here, and here.
sketches that werent ultimately used for the purposes they were made for, but decent practice for coloring and bg in photokidukaan. Used the mixer brush for the first time to good effect. And also realized how much sketching with watercolor helped me in digital coloring.
A page out of an illustrated book for the quaintly fish that’s in the making. Text from Bukowski’s A Smile to Remember.
This another comics in process, almost a year old. I was kind of pleased with the inking even though my arm needed replacement every few hours and so on. pen tool and bamboo can do nice things for you so long as you’re prepared to spend a lifetime on each page. Must clicken to embiggen.
YOU WILL WATCH THIS VIDEO IN FULL EVEN IT BORES YOU TO DEATH, DAMMIT!
Okay so no it wont bore you, it’s awesome. Thanks to Rane for the video. Happily, it has all the art we did at sunburn, so seee!
the final canvas Rane and I did that I expect is sitting in a school in somewhere in goa
So, painting at Sunburn happened. On very wobbly cotton cloth stretched over rickety bamboo. But well, they happened. Keeping aside a lot of boring music, some nice music, it was fun as always with Zine and Rane. I’d have possibly stabbed myself in the eye without them.

birdies, in this case lotus bulb like birdie creatures are creeping into a lot of stuff that I do. I realized how much I love the way animals and birds move and the postures they have. I particularly love how certain birds can be extremely elegant and sinister and predatory at the same time.
Noticed how cranes and others of the family stand on one leg, perfectly balanced, hop about in the water picking on fishies and making their lives miserable?
and now I go back to learning how to draw.
sketchbits of goa, and the discovery that petroleum jelly somewhat works a lot like masking fluid. and that watercolors are loads and loads of fun.
I do illustrations, comics, web and print design, scribbles on walls, on your mother and wherever I can.
Will draw for food!
